Your Happiness Chemicals.
Class: Unlock the Power of Meeting with Your Angels. Give yourself a great big hug, a compliment or a pat on the back and guess what? You are going to feel better because you are releasing your happiness chemicals. I’ve been curious about this for a while and opted to study. Turns out this science is interesting to me. There are many things we can do to increase our own happiness. Your glands produce chemicals based on our thoughts, activities and moods. Those chemicals are released into our blood stream and produce more of the same feelings. Here are the four main happiness chemicals. Want to increase them? Dopamine is increased by setting and achieving goals. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big goal or a small goal. Break things down into little steps. We’re looking for the good feeling of checking something off the list. Then celebrate that little will! You also increase dopamine when you do self-care activities and listen to or play music. So love yourself up. Oxytocin is called the friendship hormone. It helps you feel close to others. You make oxytocin when you give a hug, cuddle with a pep, laugh with friends and give a compliment. Do some fun activities with people you love: take a walk, play a game or help someone with something. Endorphins are released when you exercise, laugh, listen to music and go outside. Endorphins are natural pain stoppers so let’s do a little more dancing! Dark chocolate is also an endorphin releasing treat. Serotonin comes from sunshine, meditation, eating good food, relaxing, sleeping well and again movement. Exercise seems to be one of the best things going! Talking to Angels brings a sense of peace of many people. Though it’s not in the research, I’m sure that this form of meditation also increases our happiness chemicals!
