Howdy folks,
I promised to share my experience in Paris. Paris was beyond my wildest dreams. Notre Dame and The Louvre stands out in my mind’s eye as among the most monumental things I have seen yet. I had no idea that a man made structure could impact me as much as the Alps!
The big lessons of Paris had to do with discernment, self-trust and intuition. Before we left home, we booked a place to stay on Ile St-Louis because as two women traveling, it is a renowned sweet spot. There were no other apartments available in the area, yet, I had a knawing, small feeling about the place we were planning to stay.
I checked repeatedly with my intuition and asked over and over if we would be overall safe there and I got yes. I knew there might be a small problem and let it go.
We arrived at the apartment early and the manager wasn’t due for a couple hours. We went into the hall below the apartment where 2 locked doors closed behind us. We did an energy cleanse on the building and went back outside to enjoy the city. Our area was magnificent with a gorgeous view of Notre Dame and we were lodged between the two veins of River Seine.
We met up with the apartment manager and lugged our stuff up three skinny flights of stairs. The apartment was sufficient, phew! It looked like the pictures I had seen on the internet and in my mind’s eye. So we hit the city and had a blast.
I still had that gnawing feeling with my intuition, so we went home before dark. That was when the unknown revealed itself from the shadows. As we entered the building behind the closed doors, we realized a neighboring restaurant kitchen opened into our hall. There in the hall was the creepy cook who propositioned us. We said NO way as we scurried past. Knowing that we were overall safe, we had now uncovered the concern. We developed the obvious strategy of awareness that others were in the restaurant, a team of two at all times, a protective stance and ridiculous sense of humor. It worked!
We had a fabulous time. Another of my favorite spots was the Largest flea market in the world, full of Paris antiques. Paris wins the cake for beauty.
Love, love, love to you all!

Moral of the story: Ask a lot of questions of yourself and your guides. If they say everything will be ok, even if you have a nagging feeling, then everything will be ok. And pay attention and do the math.
I leave in the morning, crack of dawn, for Paris – what a pleasant surprise to receive your e-mail this eve. before I leave. Thank you!
Love, MaryEllen
