Hi,
In response to a recent blog post, I got some great feedback and questions. One person responded with this:
“It is wonderful how answers appear. I was just thinking about an issue that I have been pondering and praying about and wondering whether my concerns have even been heard and then your information on clarity appeared this morning. I think that prayer and intuition are linked and the answers we are seeking are not always clear to us. Did I hear the answer or just what I wanted to hear? The hardest part is to be still and listen. These exercises are so valuable.”
I wanted to address the part about hearing the answers we want to hear. Sometimes we are very clear and we may have a good feeling about something that we are heading into. We get a sense that things are going well and we listen for our guidance on how to proceed. Sometimes we have a dreaded feeling about something. That is a warning guiding us in another direction. Obviously, go forward signals feel different than a warning sign.
There is another situation that most of us are familiar with. That is when we are attached to or really hoping for a specific answer, from the Universe. In those times, it’s harder to get out of the way and let the intuition be. When I really want something, and especially if I’ve been waiting a long time for that desire or preference to happen, I might influence the feeling or answer that I am getting inside with my strong emotions.
In those situations, sit really still and breathe. Clear your field. Breathe and run light through your aura and your body. Ask to be clear. Sit and listen very quietly and pay attention to your body. Notice how you feel? Are you neutral and calm? Do you feel at ease or are there areas in your body that are tense, holding on or attached, when you contemplate? Let your body be your guide. If you have uncomfortable feelings, pay closer attention to those feelings. Attempt to become neutral before you ask your intuition again. A blank palate is the best palate for reaching accuracy.
Another thing you can do is ask simple yes and no questions. For added clarity add the words, “In divine truth to the beginning of your question. For example: “In divine truth, am I being fully honest with myself? In divine truth, have I asked the best questions”? “In divine truth do I need to check in with a neutral observer”? “Would it be wise for me to try a different approach?”
Remember that we are creating our reality. When there is something that I am intending, I find it best to walk in the direction of my clear intention and then let spirit guide me. If I get a feeling that I’m not on track then I adjust my direction.
If the answer involves another person, such as someone you love deeply, then it’s also really important to be neutral. Follow your best instinct. If you make forward movement according to your instinct, your gut will guide you in adjusting your movement.
Lastly, I sometimes “try on” an answer, just like you might try on new clothes. I try the answer on in one direction and then I try it on in another. Sometimes I really want something and I’ll go in that direction believing in it and it won’t feel right. If that happens I let go and adjust. Other times when I am not yet sure, I take small steps in a direction, watching to see how it feels. That said, when you are having trouble accessing your truth and your emotions are getting in the way, you can try on different answers until you get one that feels the best for you and then keep your faith. That puts good energy in the direction you are going.
We can’t control the future of life. Spirit answers to what is true in the moment. The truth of the moment is our point of power. That is the place to be. As often as you can get back to the moment and move in the direction that feels best to you. Then pay attention to your clues and feelings along the way. Spirit is lovingly guiding our every step. We only need to listen and trust ourselves. You do know what is right for you. Trust what you are getting and take that next step. If you are listening, that step will serve you well.
Love Dawn
